ImpactOS NC is Ayden, Alex, and PB. We build simple software for nonprofits.
I'm Ayden. I love engineering of every kind, ethics, and basketball. I think the best way to build taste in the age of AI is to spend real time with art, whether that's film, music, painting, or books. I care a lot about what nonprofits do for their communities. I've volunteered for most of my life, and I plan to keep showing up for anyone working to make things better.
I'm Alex, a computer science and economics major at UNC. I believe software can make every organization more efficient, not just the ones with big budgets, and I want to close the gap between what nonprofits have today and what they could do. I've managed databases for an engineering company and done extensive research in fluid dynamics. I like hard problems, especially when solving them helps people.
I'm PB, a neuroscience major on the pre-med track. I want to be a surgeon, but I love to code. I helped found a nonprofit that works to increase healthcare access in rural communities, and I enjoy working with machine learning models, synthesizing proteins, and searching for potential cures to diseases. What draws me here is getting to use computer science with a team that cares about doing good.
